Default ls1 vs ls2

Alright guys i just came across a good deal on a ls2 long block im thinkin about picking up this weekend but first i want to make sure its worth it. Here are a couple of my questions/concerns....when sleeving a block for a bigger bore what is the advantge of a ls2 over a ls1 if any ? Also what are the main advantages of the ls2 block over a ls1 block if any? Id also like to know if i will need to change anything fuel/electronic wise??? Thanks for your time, Mike.

If you are putting in sleeves the LS2 can be either dry or wet. LS1 will require wet sleeves. Wet sleeves are stronger but the process is more complicated and costs more.

You will need a LS2 adaptor harness - believe TSP sells this.

If you plan to sleeve the LS2 block, you will likely use few of the remaining parts. Rotating assembly, cam and heads will probably be replaced to accomodate a big bore engine, not leaving a lot left. Unless you are getting the LS2 long block for less than $1K might be easier to just sleeve what you have.

I would think it would be more cost effective to just buy a MAST crate engine or a short block. Or...I would just stroke the LS2 since it has a 4.00 bore already
