Default Doing h/c swap: Following ls1howto.com Question: No thread locker on crank bolt?

I know lots of people have used these instructions successfully before, a big thanks to jmX. Just thought the crank bolt is something you would want to use thread locker on?

Any info appreciated, thanks...

The new crank bolt has a bit of thread locker on it...or it should. You should always use a new crank bolt also....

Hmm, Have the stock replacement bolt, no thread locker on it, just some red stuff inside the flange. Shop manual doesnt specify adding thread locker either. Guess both can't be wrong!

It should have red or orange on a few threads. I would put some on for good measure.

Use some Loctite 222 low strength TL. Due to the high torque, the 222 will provide protection from loosening due to vibration but also allow disassembly
