It is a truck. Regardless of anything else, you have a lot of weight to get off the line. In short, you need torque to overcome the mass of the vehicle and accelerate it off the line. I'd stick with the 216/220 you have or have some real custom work done by a pro.

216/220 doesn't make torque in a 5.3, what makes you think it would in a 370? the added cubic inches of your new motor will help a TON, and the TSP cam will be fine with the PP heads you have, PP and TSP work together so they would know 100%.

Doh, I missed the 370 part.

The TSP is still too large of a cam for the 370 unless he is going to run a lot of compression. Even then, the loads of a truck are going to put some danger of detonation into the mix.

It all depends on what you're doing. A truck weighs a hell of a lot more than a F-body or Vette. It is up to you, of course.

IMO, no way in hell would I put a cam that size in a truck. I'm sure you'll get better dyno numbers with a big cam, but I'll wager you'll run a faster 1/4 if you maximize your torque throughout the entire curve. It is't my truck, though.

the TSP cam will perform GREAT in the truck...i had the 222/226 .569/.573 112 in my 5.3 and it ran great, the low end wasn't as good as with my other cam, but it was still acceptable...and it was plenty to drag a few f-bodies outta the hole...

either...i would go with the TSP cam personally due to it's friendliness to nitrous oxide...you know i like nitrous...and it looks like you hae it in mind also.
