Default Differences in TR230 and Trex

In a street driven M6 how much difference will I feel between the two cams. I already have the TR230 package just wondering if I should upgrade to the Trex, because looking at the dyno graphs the curves are very similar down low.

depends what your tolerances are....I would suggest some pretty steep gears with that t-rex cam though, depending what kind of street driving you do. This a daily driver?

Yes this is my daily driver. I currently have the stock gears though. I dont have the 230 cam installed yet just sitting in my bedroom. How will the idles compare. I really just need the car to be able to drive on the street, I dont really care about gas milage or anything. Also I will need to drive the car for a month or so with no tuning, but I only drive about 200 miles a month. I am thinking just stick with the 230 what does everyone think. But I want a rough idle sound.

Honestly I think you would have trouble with the t-rex, trying to drive that on a daily basis. I had the TR230 cam in my Z28. I drove that in rush hour traffic with stock 3.42 gears and it wasnt bad. I could have used more rear end gear though, but it wasnt bad. The t-rex is considerably larger cam... Personally I would just stick with the TR230 for a daily driver, unless you wanted to get serious with the car, especially if you have to go a while w/o tuning. I like the TR230 cam. Made good power and had a nice lope to it at idle

i dont drive my trex daily but it aint bad at all, i drove a week without a tune. i never drilled the tb. but it is a must without a tune to get it to idle. 4.10s work good, but my 4.56 are great.

Agreed, I would strongly recomend gears. As for driveability, I guess its really all in the tuning, if you have a good tuner in your area, then I'm sure it can be made pretty streetable

I would stay with the TR230 over the Trex as the latter is a max power race cam that would be DD suitable to some but to the rest it would be horrid. The 230 will lope very good at the stock idle speed on it's 111LSA. The TR230 will run on the stock tune but expect it to want to die upon starting and will hunt for idle for a good half minute or so. Get an LS1 Edit tune ASAP. To get the max effort out of the TR230 go for a set of 4.10 gears also as she will be a dog with the stock 3.42s.
