Default 6.0 V8 in Jeep Hwy RPM

I have a 6.0 from a 2001 chevy truck in my 94 wrangler with a 700r4, running 33's with 3;73 gears. This is used as a daily driver and occasional off road. My question is on the hwy going about 65 I run 2500 RPM, is this normal. The 700r4 is from a V-6 was wondering if the torque converter could be an issue with the RPMS? Any help would be great thank you.

With that tall of a tire, you should be much lower.

Sounds like you lost 4th gear and are running around in 3rd only. A gear calculator showed that with your specs, 3rd gear is 2500rpm at 66mph.

Try shifting into 3 from D and see if that makes a difference in RPMs. If it doesn't, then your transmission is not shifting into 4th for some reason.

Yep ^^^^ You are probably not in 4th. I have a k5 blazer with a 700R4, with 4.10 gears, and 35" tires. I only turn 2200 rpm at 65. Adjusting the TV Cable on a 700r4 is critical. Are you sure you have it done right?

I thought the same thing with it not going into fourth but if I put it in drive and then down shift it going down the highway the RPMS increased and it feels like the transmission is down shifts, so i would assume its going into fourth. I have my TV cable adjusted to what my tranny guy set it at. Not to sure whats going on.

I have it wired to a switch in the cab that I turn on when going down the road. Now that you mention that when I would flip the switch nothing would change .

yes if its not set correctly pressure in 3rd and 4th could be slightly off, it dont take long to hurt a 700r4 might have wiped 4th out completely. or maybe blown fuse goin to your switch??
