Default COMP or SLP double roller timing sets in a ls6 ?

will a double roller timing set like the comp adjustable , or a slp double roller fit behind the factory timing cover ? will it interfere with the oil pump or water pump ?

i just want to know if its a simple swap i dont want to move my oil pump around or shim it ect.. ? is it possible or should i just go with a single roller after market set with sprockets?

thanks for the help

Junior

I just installed the SLP chain and it does fit behind the cover, but the only reason is because I have the SLP pump too. SLP grinded a small area in the back of the pump to clear the chain. That means I didnt have to use the spacer that come with the chain. From my observation, no matter what double chain you get, you will have to either grind the cover or the pump. I suggest just getting the SLP chain/pump combo.

what single roller do you recommend ??? i see texas speed shows a comp single roller ??

The LS2 replacement chain is the popular choice among the folks here.

I use the LS2 chain. It is a fair bit beefier than the LS1 chain and requires no modification. Haven't had a single issue.

Depends on where you buy it.

Why is he replacing the chain? Mileage? Broke?

It only makes sense to change the oil pump too while you are in there.
