Rebuilding an LQ4, tips?
So im new to this blog but not really new to LS engines. I have a 2005 2500HD 4x4 with the LQ4 6.0 (cast iron block alum heads). Engine runs great except the knock sensor code, changed sensors and harness still throwing code. No big deal. Im pulling the engine to to do mods to it.
All I have done prior is add the 40 series dual flowmaster and the KN filter setup. I was thinkin about buying L92 heads, new intake and TB. Also a new camshaft and pushrods, maybe lifters. Although I like the GM stock top end, lifters and rocker arms. Keeping the 4L80 tranny too changing the torque converter though. Thought I would start with this and make my way to rear end later after I do the engine.
Suggestions? Also what cam setup should I go with? Thanks in advance for all the help.

I'd do a little port work to your heads you have on there now, valve job and mill to bump the compression up some, then look at around a 220/224 .595/.595 112lsa cam....or a 114lsa if you want less lope...in your xase I'd keep the intake you have and port/polish your t/b.... Also maybe look at 2,600-3,000 stall

just curious, but how much power could you expect out of a 6.0 with just a basic gasket match port job and appropriate sized cam with a carb and headers? ive been thinking of putting one in my 88 monte lately and would like it to at least make 400whp through an automatic
