Default Best heads for LS6

I'm currently running 317 heads on my LS6 with a 220/224 .575/.575 112LSA cam in my 2000 Silveardo. Runs great, comes on very strong but I'm thinking about putting the stock 243 heads on. How much gain do you think by doing this or would I be better off with different ones?? I run 91 octane fuel and have a manual transmission. Just got my truck on the road last week so still ironing out the little things! Suggest some good bolts on too if you have any ideas.

Ports are the same it would be a compression bump which would be worth a little power but IMO not worth the effort. Save the 243s till you can have them ported then swap them.

Also why would you put an LS6 intake on the truck?

if you have some 243s put them on to raise the compression.you could then sell the 317 to pay for the head swap.maybe do a good valve job on the 243s.

Another tech I worked with at the time had a brand new intake and brand new 317 heads for 500 bucks. Original plans were to run a turbo on it so that's the main reason I went with the 317s to lower the CR.
