Too late an IVC 45 and with a 4* positive overlap not quiet at all.

To the OP, what is the rest of your setup? Intake, exhaust, dif. gears. Also what power band do you desire?

My build has shifted to exactly what you are describing except I don't care what the idle is like or how loud it is. I just want something with good low-end torque and good drivability with a low-stall converter 2800ish.

This is my daily driver so i'm not going crazy, but would like to hit it with 100-150 shot once tuned properly for the track.

I was running a 214/222 .559/.566 XE lobes on 115lsa it idled almost exactly like stock and made great low-end torque but topped off at about 6K. I liked that I could run ls6 springs on my stock 853 heads.

I have been researching to find something with similiar characteristics but more topend and also works well with the nitrous I'm planning.

I am looking for something with an exhaust biased pattern in the mid 220's. I read an article recently that used a 219/226 with around 600 lift and surprisingly it made over 400rwhp on stock heads, full-bolt-ons.

Cam Guru's suggest away!

Something like 222/228 .581/.588 115+4 LSA
-5* overlap so stealthy, 42 IVC for 6200>6300 peak and can shift 300 rpm after that.

LMAO! A 228/236 would be anything but inconspicuous.

I'd shoot for something in the -1 through -5 degree overlap range, with a 6-8 degree split. Will be plenty stealthy and work well on the hose.

Although I've never sprayed mine I bet it would eat nitrous pretty well. It is
quiet and idles stock. EPS 218/226....117ls + 3 deg.....like PRED suggested
it peaked on the dyno at 6300 and I shift at 6600....lift is .595/.598

It is a custom Compcam XER lobes. Any sponsor carrying Compcams can get it cut for ya.
specs are: Compcam XER lobes:

Intake lobe # 3721R
Exhaust Lobe # 3724R
115 LSA (lobe separation angle)
111 ICL (Intake centerline)

I've had many cut from TSP and Thunder Racing. I used to like TR a lot because they used to give a full lift report with the cam for free, which helped a lot to degree the cam.
TSP has good prices on Cam kits including springs etc...

Personally I use PAC 1518 with those lobes installed at correct height.
pushrod should be measured but on stock LS1 lifters I usualy used 7.425 pushrods on unmilled OEM castings with stock gaskets.

Sweet man! I appreciate it..you think with that cam a 200 shot and the other mods i have listed at full race weight a 10.50 is possible? I also have full dbl adj rear suspension and qa1s on the front

Anything is possible if the combo is well matched and suspension is well adjusted. The lightest the car the best and easier the task. 200 shot on stock shortblock, even well tuned is always risky. Nitrous hits hard. Are you A4 or M6?

A4. 4L60 w/3600 stall. Definately plan on hooking it up with a window switch and progressive. Trying to help the 10 bolt live as well!

A good tune and quiet exhaust will help cover it up.

Why add overlap only to choke it with exhaust restriction??
