Default Need advice. 5.3 with 215k. Do I need to hone?

Ok, this is what I have going: 5.3, 215,000 miles, came out of my good friends 01 suburban. The real good thing is it came from his uncle who was **** about all maintainence. He had the oil changed every 5000 with mobile one synthetic. I have all the receipts from the oil changes since new. I am tearing it down to check stuff out, re ring it, install new bearings and gasket set. Poor mans rebuild. I did the finger nail test and found no grooves or anything on the cylinder walls. Hell, there isn't hardly a ridge. Can I just re ring it without honing it? The crazy thing is that there is honestly zero sludge anywhere. Thanks for the advice. I am dropping this in my 74 Bronco with a 4L60e.

Just a quick pass with the ball hone is all you will need. If you havent got excessive ridge at the top of the cylinders you are fine. Get the crosshatch patern in the cylinders and the new rings will seat fine.
