Default who is running a big hydrolic cam?

anything bigger than a 244/244 .612/.612 on a 112lsa. I am building a 427 and the budget can't handle a solid roller conversion right now. I know the S1 cam is proven to make good power, but seems kinda wimpy for a big cube motor. Any one running a hydrolic cam in 25x/.6xx range or bigger? Dyno #'s and track times please if ya got them please. Just wondering how big you could go with a max effort hydrolic set-up, and no this isn't a daily driver, lol

Mine isnt that big.

244 250 .634 .625 112lsa but I only have a Lunati stroker and not a big bore.

I am getting gears next week and MIGHT switch to something a little bigger.

I should have some updated numbers in about 2 weeks.

I made 484 and 452 last year with stock LS6 intake and TB.

"I know the S1 cam is proven to make good power, but seems kinda wimpy for a big cube motor."

What's funny is that at the time people thought the R1 was a big cam! Folks thought I was nuts when we went to the S1.

Ya, now guys are running cams almost that big in 346 ci motors The big cammed 346 cars seem to be running really good. Makes me wanna sell this S1 and put a real stick in this motor

wish I had dyno number or track times for you but I was trying to deal with comp cams about ordering this custom cam 250/256 .620/.626 112 LSA but had no luck for alittle over 1 month

I finally got a hold of someone that knows there stuff. So I will have a cam close to that soon. I only have 410ci and if I had a 427 I would try to go even bigger. I know theres proven cams out there but I want to try something different and try to step it up to the next level like these guys are doing with those lil 346's

Hell, thats bigger than my solid. My lift is a higher, but otherwise you have me beat on duration with a hydraulic.

Tell Comp you want that cam on one of their "race hydraulic" profiles. Then tell them to put it on LS1 journals. That's what I did.

Yep, it's a solid roller. I picked a lobe pattern out of their master catalog, which was a big block race lobe. I just had them grind it for an LS1.

I was having a hard time dealing with comp cams untill I found the right person to talk to so now its either comp cams or cam motion. Theres a post I just put up in internal about it

good luck, your car should make some nice power with all those parts!
Post a dyno graph when you dyno the car.

Thats what I used to think untill I started seeing more insane hp and tq
with some of these big *** cams in these 346's and strokers.
Look at thunders new cam, its crazy! A few years ago I remember anything over 230 was too big and a waste. Look at some of the cams today...big difference
