Default texas speed as cast 220s or AI dart 223s?

I been waiting to buy the new texas speed as cast 220 head since I was told about them back in feb. I don't know what is taking so long for them to be sold to the public but I am getting tired of waiting. I was originally going to have AI port my 241s but thought the texas speeds would be better performers. But now I saw AI is selling a dart 223 port that I was told will make great power. Question is do I go with AI or do I wait for texas speeds 220s? What head will make more power?

Did you see my thread I recently posted about the Dart/RHS AI heads? If not, look for it and read up. Great info in there. I would vote for the Dart/RHS AI heads. The cost is less and you're getting an aftermarket casting that is CNC'd. Plus, have you read anything negative about any of the AI heads? Not saying the Texas Speed heads aren't good, but how much longer are you willing to wait? Plus, AI is selling the Dart/RHS heads at a discounted rate right now. I'd say jump all over them.

By the way, here is the link to that thread:

2 questions for you Predator-Z

1) Are the AI TFS heads too big for a mostly street 346?

2) Is there any difference between the AI TFS heads and the TFS 220 heads that AI ports? I know AI has the TFS porter castings, so I wasn't sure how much they differ from the TFS 220 heads.

Yes that post is when I discovered the ai dart 223. Most likely I am going to just order them since I have no idea when texas speed is going to relase there casting.

I would wait for the PRC as-cast. It is an aftermarket 6bolt casting.

Our (PRC) casting will have numerous benefits over the RHS castings including being 6 bolts per cylinder, a thicker casting that is better suited for high Hp boost and nitrous combos, better piston to valve clearance, etc!

We will have the as cast heads here on monday to port and send out. We can start taking orders on monday for them. I have them on my car and they work great. I picked up almost 30rwhp over my stock 243 castings with them.

WOW!!!

fail.... miserably. Great 3rd post.

Why don't you take a good hard look at John's picture at the bottom of his post. Now read it. That's ALL TSP parts, bud. How blatantly disrespectful to one of our sponsors and a great forum contributor, let alone what TSP continues to do for our COMMUNITY as a whole.

Shame on you, man. Go haze yourself.

I disagree and so will the many other customers and shops that deal with us on a daily basis. While I recognize and agree that TFS puts out a good product, I believe we have proven our products and service far exceeds many others in this very same business. We dont just sale our products we go out and race with them!

That 9 second car is not impressive considering the car weighed 2800# and was purposely built for that record no one cares about. You go ahead and lick tsps taint while the rest of us make power and win.

LOL! You never miss an opportunity to step in and junk a thread up spewing endless nonsense. We did that setup for fun, and you would suprised how quickly everything was put together. Its simply a car we test parts and various combinations on, and it happens to hold the record for the quickest stock bottom end N/A 5.7 LS1. If its so simple and unimpressive to you thats fine, but the need to bash us in every thread posted up isn't necessary. We didnt make it this long and achieve what we have by simply crossing our fingers, and hoping we make it another 10 years. We truly care about what we do, and strive to offer the best products and service possible to the LS industry.

What was it you did for the LS industry again? What amazing things have you accomplished in that car of yours again? I just ask because obviously you've done more, and contributed more..........

Lol gotta love the sticklers....OP I think either way you go with TSP or AI's heads you will make great power...both company's put out amazing products. Either way I dontbseebyou being disappointed. My advice talk to both company's and see who you feel more comfortable with, flat out you'll be happy with either.
