Default Tick after WOT then goes away after idling for a bit

Lately after i WOT my car through the gears after i stop i notice the car ticks after, i could be cruising all day and it wont tick but its always after i WOT it and go through the gears WOT. Just did it and after it idled for a couple of minutes it went away, and before it went away it would tick on acceleration and deceleration. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thinking its a stuck lifter.

A lifter bleeding down from sustained high rpm, then you settle it into an idle and the oil is able to overcome the spring.

Is this normal? Im fairly new to these cars. Im going to be switching my oil next month from mobil1 when i do my longtubes and exhaust. Any suggestions on a good oil with high zinc levels?
Thanks for chiming in.

the tick goes away once operating temp reaches? this can be caused by carbon build up on pistons and cumbustion chambers i recommend get soem GM Upper engine service cleaning and spray through the throttle body and let soak for 30min the start vehicle and see if it consist.

my motor does same thing as op. I've learned to deal with it until I get my new motor. As long as I don't get on it then its very quiet, go WOT and ticks for a minute afterwards and then gets quiet again. I've tried several different lifters and all do same thing. I am currently running castrol 10-40 and seems to be the best IMO.

Yeah im gonna give castrol or mobil 1 with some marvel mystery oil a try. I guess ill just keep going with it. Should be doing the longtubes and exhaust next month ill switch it up next month and report back here since all the threads no one comes back with a fix or solution.

Thanks again for chiming in guys!
