Default Good old number seven misfire.....

Just looking for some thoughts on the best route to take with this. Swapped coil, plugs, and injectors and Im still getting a misfire from number 7. Havent done a leakdown yet but im betting its the piston and or a ring letting go. Its a 2000 WS6 clean car and my girls daily. What would be my best bang for the buck to get a new and or fresh motor for this car. Looking for input. Any thoughts on going with an iron block versus the aluminum.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Did you do a compression test? I would run a iron block because they are stronger just my 2cents.

Get the compression test done and go from there.. You can buy 347 internals pretty cheap. Just reuse the block and get it bored out for the 347, have it reasembled and ur good to go

Thanks for the replies, Im leaning towards an LQ9 or an LY6. Im just triing to do this on a budget for a daily driver. It was my understanding that you can only bore the aluminum blocks .010? The Lq9 would be the easiest route but I think that the chances of finding one with low miles that I can just do a small cam swap on and install it as is. LY6 would be pretty easy, just a few extra parts to buy. Got the funds today so the hunt begins.

Man I found that my injector wire somehow got cut or rubbed apart back in the wiring harness. I fixed it and all is now well
