Default 5.3 silverado

sooo im new to here as u can see and i wannt to get s cam for my5.3 2005 silverado...my buddy on here (00blackz28) is getting the custom grind 228r cam and i saw a 226 cam...any good or bad to this cam..and what should i get with this cam also so i dont destroy my motor...sorry i have been drinking lol

I checked my User CP earlier for bumped threads... Knew I was too drunk to post... Left User CP open, went and slept for 4 hours.. Woke up and then posted.

you probably want a cam that makes good low end torque for a heavy truck.if you are using a stock converter you don't want too big of a cam.check thunder racing or Texas Speed for cam pkgs.check out comp cams camquest ,try different cams to find 1 you mite like.

If you want to stay with a stock converter, the Comp Cams 212/218 is a popular truck cam. Combine it with LS6 springs and hardened pushrods for a tried and true combo.

My first cam was a 212/218, and I drove it without a converter for about 2 weeks. Wouldn't do that again. I'd do a converter first, and a TR220 on a 112, if I was to do it over...

sorry i was hammered when i wrote that lol..i thought i did pretty good..but yeaa..i want a nice lope haha..but my other option is to pick up a Dmax and make my 5.3 a sleeper and drop a stoker in her or just bore her out
