Default LQ4 6.0L in a 95 z71

IDK if this is in the right place or not, if it is not please move it to the correct place.

I have a 95 z71 pick up and im plan on selling my camaro, and useing that money to do a solid axle swap and a 6.0L swap
so i plan on doing some things to the motor befor i drop it in.

when it comes down to it my goals are a 13 ish second truck with a nice somewhat choppy idle and reliable bc it is my daily driver.

my budget for the lq4 build will be depending on what i pay for the 6.0 but id like to keep the motor around 2k, ready to drop in.

so I figured i will do a cam and valve spring swap but thats as far as i have gotten as far as building the motor goes and i want to know what other mods could be done for fairly cheep and what cam i should use. also wanted to know if my goal of it being a 13 second truck is reasonable?

Op your goal is very reasonable. ive seen a rusted out 71 c10 run 13.4s with the setup your describing. unfortunatley even though i had a look under the bonnet i dont know exactly what mods besides cam, lts, stuff like that.

lol you never mentioned lifted, assuming you dont have massive tires and a 12" wide rim or something crazy like that. id say its still reasonable to reach low 13s. i believe the c10 was even a 3/4 ton frame

I would ask on the truck site. They would know what you need.
