Talking Gas mileage on Heads/Cam package?

I wanted to know how you guys are doing driving around town and on the freeway.

I was thinking about stage 2 heads and TR 224/224-114 LSA.

Thanks!!

I think if you're honestly considering any high hp application for your car, you might as well stop worrying about gas mileage.

I have heard of some H/C Z06 cars that actually retain their stock mpg...Mostly at highway speeds, but nonetheless. I imagine any 6-speed LS1/6 could do it depending on how often you get on it.

I get ~25mpg on the highway with the 224 cam also. I think it all depends on the tune really. I gained several MPG from my tune.

Like someone mentioned....the mileage has a lot to do with a good tune. I recently picked up 2-3mpg just from my tune. I get about 23-24mpg on the highway, provided I keep my foot out of it.

With the mods in my sig, I consistently get 16-18 mpg city, and about 27 mpg highway. This is also if I don't romp on it everytime I get in her, which is very hard to do.

I just got back from a road trip across the desert, had the cruise set at 100 mph most of the time with occational sprints to 125 mph. Just filled up the tank and checked the mileage; to my surprise I got 23.4 mpg! Normally I get about 17 mph city, but then I drive like an animal! I think the problem is your right foot gets a lot heavier after a cam install!
