Default pre assmebly with TTY bolts?

I'm wrapping up my Head/Cam swap. I don't have my ARP head bolts yet or my LS7 lifters. I need to check for pushrod length and get them ordered. Can I preassemble One side and torque the head down with the old torque to yield bolts so I can measure? Should I wait until I have the new LS7 lifters installed? The head gaskets are Cometic.

Yes, that'd be a great idea to go ahead and get pushrod length sorted out now with your old bolts! You do need to check with ALL of the valvetrain components you'll be running installed (cam, lifters, and heads, gaskets, and rockers).
