2002 Ls1 Trans Am was on the lift while we were redoing exhaust. I didn't know it but a coworker noticed oil change was scheduled for it and decided to change the oil while it was up when I wasn't there, and was waiting for car to be lowered to refill oil.
I finished exhaust and lowered car to start it to check for leaks, it started and I immediately saw LOW OIL light and shut it off. Ran a total of 3 or 4 seconds and that's all, literally.
Filled back up, started again and ran it for maybe an hour and am seeing no bad symptoms, am I OK?
Someone mentioned that a car with a fresh oil change/filter has a few seconds anyway of zero oil while it pumps it through the filter and stuff, that there's little chance any harm was done.
Would like to hear it from the pros here.

should be ok... ive seen motors take 10-15 seconds to prime after an oil change... ive seen some never prime...(yikes)
you never really get all the oil out anyway... so all the oil film that is on the bearings is there to protect it for a short period of time...

Your way fine.....no issues to worry about at all. There is still a fair amount of residual oil on the parts, bearings, etc.....especially on a broken in running engine.
Put it behind you as a lesson learned and that's that!

I drove my harley for about 15 miles before noticing my oil return line sheared a key. All my oil was stuck in the primary, and none in the engine. After fixing everything, no problems. Never even wore on the rings. Small difference is that I put 20w-50 in my harley, so it tends to stay in the engine longer.
