Default LS1 engine swap vs rebuild

have a 2001 ss, m6, I'm thinking of freshing up my ls1 or just install a new crate ls1 or ls2 etc. 502 would be nice.
Any experienced comments on this, how complicated, wiring harness, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks

502, or 402?

6.0 iron blocks are pretty much a direct drop in other than needing one bolt hole drilled and tapped in the front of it for your power steering bracket.....punch it out to 4.030 bore and 4" crank (408) gives you a lot more power potential and is what I run....Texas speed and some other sponsers on here have dome real good prices on rotating assemblies and fully built motors.

I would look at doing a 408 iron block like previously stated. In my opinion, they are easily the best bang for your buck motors we can provide. I feel like you would be spending close to the same amount to rebuild your shortblock as you would for the 408. The iron blocks will drop right in to those cars.
