Default clearance of oil pickup tube?????

im putting together a 408 lq9 motor that is going into a 2000 fbody. i have fbody pan and from the bottom of the pan to the pick up tube i have 1/4 inch clearance. Is this about right???

We typically recommend 3/8"-1/2" pan to pick-up tube clearance.

I would find an Fbody windage tray and pick up then you know your good..

Thats good to know i have fbody oil pan windage and pickup and im currently 1/4 to 3/8 inch. thanks for the help

1/4 is fine.

Would not go over 3/8 Too far is just as bad as to close
