Default lunati dual valve springs question

i got the lunati dual valve springs kit 73925k1. specs..

Valve Spring Specs: • O.D. 1.306 inch • I.D. 0.676 inch • Max lift: 0.660 inch • Seat load: 153 lb/in @ 1.810 inch • Open load: 400 @ 1.150 inch • Rate: 379 lb/in • Coil bind: 1.100 inch

i have stock heads, valves. stock install height is 1.8 inches. is the .01 inch difference in the install height going to matter?

ok before you respond

..magic ball..................says.. check it

if you want to know this stuff you need to get some info, and measure what you have. Or don't and hope its right because you read it on the internet or someone told you it would be. thats it

Depends on what thelift of your cam is, and how close you want to run them to coil bind. Unless you're running an outrageous camshaft, I say run then at 1.800. It'll only give you slightly more closed pressure.

They spec them for 810, but they will probably install at 800, so theoretically max lift capability of the spring has been reduced from 660 down to 650.

Whats the measuresed height with the spring seat installed and the Lunati retainers? I agree with Studderin...measure, measure, measure. It sounds like it will work fine installed at 1.800, but as 01ssreda4 said, it will reduced the effective lift capability of the springs.

Two thoughts. First, at 1.800" you are approaching 160# on the seat. Second, I have never installed these particular springs but I have also never had springs install at 1.800". The stockers came in consistently at 1.765". You need a valve spring micrometer to measure what the installed height is going to be with these valve spring seats.

These springs have a relatively high seat force but the stiffness is low as compared to other valve springs. I would strongly recommend larger OD pushrods otherwise you will have another "cushy" spring in the valve train.

is there any way to measure with the depth side of a vernier caliper?
