LQ4 knocking
Hello!
I hope someone can help me, this car is making me sick.
This LQ4 came to me with a clogged cat, caused by worn out Valves and seats due the use of LPG as fuel.
The Heads became special self lubricating Seats and Manley Race Flow Valves, it tooks 3 Weeks until i got the Heads back.
After all was together the engine started right up, but there was a knocking, i thougt from a lifter.
I stepped a bit on the throttle an heard a squeeking noise, i shut off immediatly.
After inspection everything looked fine so i started again, the squeeking was gone but the knocking not.
But the Oil Pressure was too Low!
I dropped the Pan and found out that the #3 Cam bearing was walked forward in its bore.
After some google searching i found out that this is not uncommon with the 6.0
Lucky to find the new Problem i replaced the Cam Bearings 1-4 with the Engine in the Car. #5 is impossible to change without pulling the engine. New Cam (stock) and timing Set came also in.
I also looked at the Rod bearings, they look like new. Oil pump disassembled/cleaned.
But the knocking remained.
Then:
-Pushrods checked, not bent
-Rockers look and feel good
-dropped pan again for changing Fel-Pro Pump O-Ring to new OEM, no difference
-Heads up again for new lifter, still knocking
When i touch the Timing Cover i can feel the knock, so i removed it and everything looks fine.
I made this Video, maybe someone can help me.

Thanks
