Engine Build to come..
alright so i have some questions, I see so many people building 408's and such with the 6.0 iron block.. Is there anything to be concerned with using the LS1 block for this project? Callies LS1 408 or 427 Rotating assembly?
and if not lets just say I want to build this 427 on my aluminum LS1 block, what heads do i use?
This is what i was looking at
Callies LS1 427 Rotating Assembly, 4.125" Bore, -4cc Piston, 4.000" Stroke, 6.125" Rod Length
Precision Race Components Stg. 3 LS6 Heads & Cam Package
SKU: 199-PKG4
- PRC .675" EHT Dual Valvespring Kit
- Texas Speed TorquerV3 Camshaft
- 113 LSA
- 7.350"
- N-motion LS2 Single Roller Chain
- Melling High Pressure Oil Pump
Thoughts or concerns and input welcome.. and i do not know what the push rod length is going to be, i just selected that so that i could add it to my cart and copy and paste the info on everything together..

The problem you would run into trying to use an ls1 is the bore cant be had without resleeving the block... If you don't mind putting the money out for the resleeving it can be done.

$1,300-1,500 for the sleeves, then probably somewhere around $1,000-$2,000 in machine shop labor.....if you don't mind the extra 100 pounds you can pick up a running lq4/9 for around $1,000, and if you look around might even be able to pick up just the bare iron block for $100-$200, clean and bore it, then drop all the new parts in

Lol hell yeah man that's a great price! Nice to have inside connections lol.
I'm personally running a fully forged 408 stroker in my 04 GTO... Ported/milled 241's with 57cc chambers to give me 12.5:1 scr and a 255/271 .624/.624 115 lsa cam, ported Edelbrock proflo intake and 60lb injectors here.....pulls insanely hard all the way up to my 8,000rpm fuel cut
Any idea what for head style you want to go with....cathedral port or ls3/7 style?
