No real progress on this. I did finish my mini, basically. It is at the body shop finishing up body work and paint soon. When it comes back AC install and probably a Turbo.

For the oil, I was thinking accusump, but when I was about to order an oil pan, I was like, what in the heck am I doing. I will just make one myself, a dry sump one, and then fabricate mounts for a 4 or 5 stage dry sump and make my own 1.5-2.0 gallon container for it. I have done it before on a 4cyl engine and it worked great so same basic concept.

Nothing else too new on it. Working on other projects getting things done. Crank should be here soon, but I have not pushed them to get it done. I plan to nibble away at it to get it done.

Love to have a mini like that! I've wanted a 'real' mini for a long time now, that's definitely wilder than what I had been imagining.

In for the cool pics and videos when this thing is done!

I love it! I've always liked the old minis and will have one some day!

How did you get to that widebody stance? Build the drivetrain and suspension then body to match/cover it, or build the body then setup the ddrivetrain/ suspension to fit?

I had the mini body and the MR2 chassis going together at the same time. I had to cut the chassis to fit the mini body. I cut it in half and took 6" out of wheelbase and also had to cut the width for the cabin. I left the width on the wheels though and made the bodykit myself to fit that. It is as the body shop now with my buddy finishing up details on the bodywork to make it nice and smooth then paint. I picked 2014 vette lime rock green with a white top. Should be interesting when done.

I get comments like this sometimes and trust me, I do not have tons of money, hence why it is not done yet. I am doing it part by part over time to afford it. I did not want to put a regular off the shelf stock engine in and wanted to rev it so I was thinking destroke anyway so decided to give this a try. When done we will see how she comes out. 600-650 NA hp in a 2400lb car should be more than fun enough for me. It does cost money, my budget knows that for sure, but why be normal and average when you do not have to be. We make cars to be to our own liking and unique, to me anyway.

LPE has already done it. I think it was them. It's more than possible, it's just the rarity of the idea creates a lot of additional cost. I would LOOOOOVVVEEEEE to put one of these into a SLC coupe....yummy yummy.

Im in the middle of doing basically the dame thing with a 66 mustang on a 96 honda civic floor/suspension and building a mild j32a v6 for it for my mother. In the end she will have her fwd 300hp 66 mustang

I got lucky and the mustang and civic had the same wheel track, just had to add 3.5" into the floor to strech the wheelbase to match. The inner rockers of the civic pan slid right up into the inner rockers of the mustang shell so I could tack weld them right in.

The fuel system is basically the same and oil coolers and such can be swapped back and forth as needed for either setup.

Subscribed for the awesomeness.

Tho I will say, if it were just sound you wanted, did you considered just building a set of 180 degree headers? I've heard a set of them and they sounded like the flat crank videos I've seen. Curious because I know what you mean on that sound!

heres a recipe ive thought about for a long time
4.085 bore block(alredy have built a 09 6.0 ly6 to 4.08)
09+ 4.8 3.268 stroke crank
09+ 4.8 connecting rods
+.020 ls3 pistons
243 heads w work thru them 300cfm
jesel rockers
gt11 cam. i luv the way this cam screams even in 6.0s. it just flat out runs, pulls hard and screams wot. even w its low duration.
i spin my dd 4.8 truck to 7000 on occassion. dont see reason why above motor wouldnt take 8000.
may have to add that theres something vout the 4.8. it just completely sounds diff from the orher gm crank motors. its got a more "balanced" robotic sound and the way it gets to the rpm quicker. is best i can describe it. it just screams.
just a thought. i think a build based w a 4.8 crank would b similar for that "scream"

I don't know if it's been mentioned but I would also look into getting the cam bearings pinned and running the .904 lifters.
