Default What cam you guys running in your 390-408ci engines.......

I'm looking for a medium to aggressive cam thats good for a 200 shot.....

Not too much lope, but a little is ok.

Is it all custom, or is there an off-the-shelf aftermarket that's good?

(((I have to drive this thing for about 9 months N/A....until the turbo kit goes on.)))

.

I'm running a 255/271 .624/.624 115 lsa cam in my 408.....with my ported Edelbrock proflo xt it has a decent idle at 900 rpms and pulls hard as hell all the way to my 8,000 rpm fuel cut. Remember when looking at cams the bigger cubes really eat up the duration so you can go a lot bigger and have ok street manners.

Also with a bigger duration cam you want to run higher static compression to keep your dynamic compression up.....I'm sitting at 12.5:1 scr, and still a pump gas friendly 8.22:1 dcr.

Try checking the 408 sticky in the dyno section.

Would that cam lope a lot in a 390ci?

I'd like to go 12:1 cr.....but it gets friggin hot down here in South Florida......

I'm gonna go 11:1
