Default Think you can ID this Cam?

Hello all,

I have scavenged this cam out of an LS1 that I picked up. I'm trying to find all the information I can about it. I assume that it may be a TSP 231/237 cam, but dont know how to verify. I have contacted TSP and was asked "Who cut it?". I do not know. I know nothing more about it then this stamp on the end of the cam and that the LS1 also had double valve springs and hardened push rods with it.

Can anyone guide me?

Thanks guys,
Mark

One way to find out for sure what it is would be to send it to TSP and let them run it on a cam doctor machine. Then you'll have more info on it than you could ever ask for.

No clue...But as far as sending it to texas speed goes that'd be your best best. They're awesome / easy to deal with and know ALL

just my 2 cents

Thanks Matt. That's 2 saying the same so far.

I've got my short block together with the cam in now and didn't really want to pull it back out, but I'm considering it. I'll prolly contact the man thats going to tune it and see if he'll request more info on it.

Thanks again for you feedback guys.

We had Lunati cut some of our old 231/237 camshafts something like 7 years ago, but, unfortunately, I cannot tell you for sure that this is one of those.

Thanks guys for your responses.

I spoke with the person that will be doing my tune and he believes whats this will be enough information to tune my engine well. So I guess I'll just leave it alone.

Just buy another cam? It's like a grab bag cam and you don't have any specs?

Are you serious? You must be much wealthier than I. I dont keep $400-$500 laying around to "just buy another cam". Also, we have the majority of the specs stamped here into the end of the cam. I was just trying to find out more.

I mean no offense, I've just never heard anybody say "just go pick up another $400 part. Too easy".
