Couldn't find any shortblock assembled like I wanted and for what I wanted to pay. This way is way cheaper. Tell me what you guys think about it and if my 500rwhp is possible.

Take care guys

Nope. That is over 1.5hp/cubic inch. You don't have the parts, design, or compression to do that. It will be a fun motor, no doubt. 500hp at the tire isn't going to happen with a hydraulic cammed 346. No offense meant at all, you just have to be realistic.

btw--can you send me your phone number again? I accidentally nuked my inbox.

Yea I highly doubt your gonna break 500 rwhp. But if it only make 470hp dont be unhappy it will still haul ***.

I'm guessing your car is a M6.. I'd have to be realistic and say that you could pump out a solid 450 RWHP with that setup and a 6 speed. Thats still some killer power, but 500 RWHP for a 347 I think you would have to go with an extreme solid roller motor. Futral laid down 520 RWHP with his insane SR 347.

If you have an A4/A3 then you expect alot lower dyno number, however that doesn't mean the car will be any slower.

Just use the Dyno to tune the car and use the 1/4 mile to measure its performance.

Good luck with the new setup, always fun to build a new motor.

=)

there have been several hydrolic 346's to break the 500rwhp mark. it can be done but it won't be easy. you will need some really good heads. absolute put out a couple of them with ls6 heads that flowed 320+ cfm with a 210cc runner (they had incredible number through the intake if i remember correct as well). good luck to you and keep us updated

You guys think that i should push 450 but not 500? well i can hope cant I? I will give it an honest try though for the 500. believe me if i hit 450 at the rears that means i would have well over 500 at the fly right? I could live with that. 450? that will work cheer me on guys

Yup, you'll be over 500 at the crank with little trouble. 500 crank is 1.44hp/cubic inch. Tough, but doable with your motor. 1.5hp/ci and over you have to get exotic, either through engineering, materials, or most likely both.

Hell, if you're that optimistic what do you think my 408 solid roller/lsx/12:1cr will do?

I think it is possible too. I THINK though. I will let you all know though. At least a 450 is possible i firmly believe. 500rwhp on N/A is my goal on basically stock displacement. I have seen and heard about this being done a couple of times by big name tuners, but I am just a regular joe that is going to give this a run.

More compression and cam? I was figuring that was plenty for this motor. how much might be needed? If i hit 450+ N/A,when i hit my juice button i gaurantee i will be in the tens. THE REDBLUR will be born!! Oh yeah and my new license plate will read
either " I WIN!" or " IWNULSE"

Both Cartek and LG made 500 to the wheels in a 346 heads and cam set-up

I made 491 hp and 430 tq to the wheels threw a Moser 9" and 4.11 gears. I had an LS6 stock short block with ARP rod bolts. As for mods I have the Electric water pump TPIS intake and throttle body. Grott headers with a 2 1/2 inch X-Pipe exhaust. I also had the normal bolt on's ASP pulleyDirect-flo lid, stock descreen maf. The car has gone a best of 10.69@ 128.92 mph at a race weight of 3260.

So yes 500 to the wheels is possible and can be done I was running 93 octaine gas and the compression was 11.1 I belive.

good luck with your set-up I'm sure it's going to make some nice power
