Cam is too big IMO. I made 470whp with a 228/232 cam. Those heads match better with a smaller/torquey cam IMO. If I were to put a donkey dick cam in my car like the one you chose, I would at least run the ported LS6 heads that TSP sells.
P.S. Power under the curve>peak numbers.

228/232 on XER lobes with 111LSA. I ordered the custom cam through Texas Speed (who sources their custom cams to Comp Cams) when I ordered my heads/cam package from them. My car peaked at 6550 with an LS6 intake and the power does not really start to drop off until about 6900. Just my 2 cents but spinning past 7000 is too much for a V8 street car. If you don't want to go custom, I would just run their Torquer V2 cam.

Without having a built trans, a lower RPM for shifts will help it last longer.
Your combo does sound like a pretty well thought out one, but I think you can get great results and more under the curve power from a slightly smaller cam (in the 230s) without feeling like you went too small.
I felt my 230/238 was a good step up from my old 230/224 but am not left wanting a bigger cam. It performs well under normal driving but still pulls excellent all the way to my 6500 shifts and likely would go further before dropping off...I just don't want to spin that high on stock rod bolts.

Maybe i should give you guys a lil more info..I know a guy with these heads, and i know they are a damn good bang for the buck head so I'm looking for a good all around street/strip cam to Go with these heads, I'd like it to be decent around town, put down around 425+whp,and run in to at least the 11.80's all motor,I know I'm being kinda picky but I'm selling my 11 sec LT1 IROC that ive had for 10 years and built from the ground up to fund this project,so I wanna do it right the first time, what cam would be best to fit this criteria?
