Default lq9 compression options

wanting to raise comp.on lq9 with manley flattops with valve reliefs,stock stroke crank,stock length rod,unmilled ported 241's.cam is elgin 238/242-598/598,1.75 rockers.how much can i safely mill or how thin of a headgasket can i use? would like a alternate cam choice also,looking for 450 rwhp na,i also have a 75-150 shot to put on later.

You can mill upto .100+, you just gotta make sure whatever you do, that your p to v clearances are good.. Get your pr lengths in order.. Just don't forget that when you mill your heads you have to work out the issue with intake alignment

Id mock the motor up and clay the heads to see how much ptv you have now, then mill to keep your ptv safe

i also have a set of stock 799 heads off of a late model 5.3,would they work as is with a good set of springs?also considering a ms3 or a trick flow 238/242.

They'd be a def upgrade over the 241's as the 799 is the same as a 243 ls6 head., throw a nice clean up mill on it, and have at it..
