Default How bad does fuel mileage suffer?

Just a question but how much is fuel mileage affected with a cam swap? I'm looking at putting possibly a 224 or 228 cam in my DD, it's a 99 ls1 and an m6 right now with my current setup I have long tube headers, or-y, slp ram air box, and a lid. I get about 23-24 mpg with probably 70% highway and 30% city driving. I have yet to get a tune done, my main question is will I see a decrease/increase or relatively the same fuel mileage if I were do put one of the above mentioned cams in?

Not much considering u have a m6 .if u had an a4 the mpg would suffer more due to the stall ..those cams are great and aren't considered big cams

How much would I be looking at suffering? Would a tune do anything for it?

Only reason I'm asking is cuz it's my DD right now, looking at putting something to give me more power but also not murder my good fuel mileage as I drive around about 300 miles a week right now with school and work.

With a 6 speed transmission, and a good tune, if you can keep your foot out of the pedal and cruise it, you should be within 1-2mpg of what you had cruising before the cam swap. Now of course when you're making more power, you're using more fuel!

when I went to a 224r my city milage went from 19 to 17 but I'm probably in the throttle more now. Its probably not even worrying about. BTW I have an A4 with a 2800 converter and 3.73 gears.
