Rubedo

Hey all, just wanted a couple opinions here. I have a 99 Firebird Formula, that I just got last month, my 3rd Firebird, my first 2 being an 82 Firebird and an 89 T/A.

Anyways, when I got the car there was a ticking noise that sounds like its coming from the rockers/lifter area. I use it as my daily driver as I dont have another vehicle and it hasnt seemed to get worse or louder or anything. Just when you step on the gas it speeds up, leading me to believe that its possibly a pulled lifter that ticking. Just wondering if thats a common problem and how hard it will be to fix, like should I take to a shop or something I can do myself, or if I'm completely wrong and its probably something else entirely.
