Default question about rotating assemblies...

The other day i was putting together a price list for my 5.3 to get finished and thought to myself how much a 6.0 would be in comparison. WELL, i got to thinking and briefly looked at the similarities between the two and noticed that they share the same stroke of 3.662 IIRC. Despite the bore being 4.0 as apposed to 3.779 of the 5.3, could i use the rotating assembly from the 5.3 with new pistons in a 6.0? Ive seen some 6.0 blocks go for rather cheap and i figured what if....

Thanks,

Tyler

Yes, but it will need balanced. All ls engines besides the ls7 and the 4.8 use basically the same rotating assembley save for minor differences like reluctor wheels, drilled mains and wrist pin diameter. All of which can be worked around.

A 6.0 can be built for the same cost as a 5.3 or whatever. It's the initial cost that drives people toward 5.3's and such.
