Default LQ4 camshaft selection

I have a lq4 6.0L going into my 68 camaro. I have L92 heads and LS3 intake with factory fuel injectors. I am looking into the comp cams XR275HR13 cam. 222/234 duration and 556/576 lift with 113 degrees lobe separation. This car will be a daily driver. I don't want a huge stall converter. Will this cam be OK for around town yet still produce close to 500 FWHP? What stall converter would be recommended? I am also thinking about milling the heads. How much can I go before i have to fly cut the pistons with this cam?

Probably won't be able to mill much, but you need to pick your cam and check before milling.

I'd call Geoff@eps and have him spec you a cam.

with that low of a lift, you can mill .030 easy and be at bout 10.2 compression which will be good for that cam. you can make about 420rwhp at max and a 3200-3400 stall would work best with that combo. it would be a quick car.

now what i would do is mill .015 and run .040 cometic gaskets. this will still put around 10.2 compression. however, should you ever upgrade pistons or go with a higher lift cam, you can go back to running stock gaskets without the heads being milles as much.

alot depends on future mods or goals really.

Lift has little to nothing to do with ptv. Do not mill your heads until you have your cam to physically check ptv.

What kinda compression ratio would I be looking at without milling the heads and stock Lq4 pistons?
