You want power or handling?

$500 worth of suspension bits (like springs and shocks) will make more of a difference than a little bit of power that say an LS6 intake will get ya. So I would go with that at this point, or save a few more bux and get a cam kit that will net you some real power.

Either save for cam/spring/push rod kit or nitrous. $500 is probably a smidgen short for either option though.

Depending on what your setup is and what you intend to do with the car maybe a stall and/or drag radials. We need more information to answer sensibly.

ls6 intake and a ram air setup, along with gutting your lower airbox and sealing the rest of it up. Should have money left over

that or drag radials

I would put it in a rainy day fund for when that engine pops.

Only problem with a cam is that is he'll really need a dyno tune after....thats another $400. He'll probably even need a touch up tune with an LS6 intake. Just things to consider before your budget goes out the window.

I ran my ls6 without a tune for months and frosts retune has to be less than a 100. He could do the ls6 ported tb and reflash for less than 500.

if you have a 99 car with stock hydraulics/clutch in it...i would purchase the needed hydraulics and a clutch kit if possible. esp if you put a sticky tire on it..you will need the aforementioned parts.

if you aren't interested in clutch stuff now...i would purchase a ram air kit (chrs1313 or equivalent) and some drag radials.

of if you don't want either of those. some 390 gears.
