Default 408 callies reluctor wheel came loose

I got a 408ci motor built by Texas Speed a couple months ago, and I was out sunday night when it just turned off on me at WOT. I got to checking everything, and I went to replace the crank sensor checked the reluctor wheel and the one on the back was spinning freely??? Engine has a callies crank and im wondering if anybody else has had this problem? Engine only has about 4k miles on it so im hoping no other damage was done and that Texas speed will fix it.

LME makes a one piece billet reluctor wheel. Might want to see if you can get that installed.

Does the engine have to come out to replace the reluctor wheel?

What does that job entail?

Wish I would have known about this tack weld thing before my 390 went together.....

Oh well, hope mine stays intact. I was just curious.

Oh....my engine has not been installed yet, it goes in next week. Can I have this done just by spinning the crank with the oil pan off to just put the tack welds on it in a few spots????

Or does it need to be sitting on a bench totally out of the engine?

they usually separate . those dimples are where they are fused together. tack the two sides together. but now i have heard rumors(see if this is the case with mine) that they are spinning on some cranks too, so they are tacking them to the crank also

nothing happened to the motor, that happened to me on a stock shortblock ls1. all it does is make the computer go stupid and shuts the engine off.
