Default 1994 production ls1? Pics of valve covers

Has anyone heard of a preproduction ls1? The casting on the block has a date code from 1994 and the valve covers has the coil packs cast into the covers. The crank has a stamp number:12552840c.
If anyone knows what vehicle or what this motor came from, it would be helpful.

Yup, there were 2 different threads where users here found prototype lsx engines. They had detailed pictures of the head castings and some other things very different from production models.

I don't recall them having coils cast into the covers though. Got any more pictures? Seems really cool

I'm glad they made very coil seperate, bc I've had to buy multiple coil packs before with other cars even though only one was bad..

These type of things pop up. There was another post on here of a set of pistons a guy bought off of fleabay. They were listed to be a replacement LS 4.065" piston. He had pics up, and they were prototype DI pistons. Weirdest looking piston you'll ever see. Things that make you say hmmm...
