so i just grenaded the 5.3 in my s10 and want to install a 408. i am getting everything as a kit but im faced with an issue. I really dont want to spend that much on heads and i have a set of factory 5.3 heads i had ported.

as long as i get my compression around 11ish:1 i will be happy but how much power am i sacrificing by keeping the 5.3 heads.

From a lot to a little. Depends on a lot of factors, but comparing them to some of the better heads, easily a good 40hp
