Question compression

in the process of cutting my pistions for my new up grade, been reading bout dynamic compression and detonation in cylinder on pump gas

Q: is, did i over shoot for running pump gas
STATIC COMPRESSION RATIO 11.503

DYNAMIC EFFECTIVE COMPRESSION RATIO 10.033

Whoa whoa whoa, 10.0 DCR? That is wayyyy to much for pump gas.

SCR of 11.7 and DCR in the high 8s should be ok with a good tune. More than that you're really pushing the limits of pump gas, unless you mean E85 pump gas.

MS4 has a IVC of 74.5*, your dynamic is right around 8.4

Static compression ratio of 11.50:1.
Effective stroke is 2.55 inches.
Your dynamic compression ratio is 8.39:1 .
Your dynamic cranking pressure is 169.07 PSI.

Wallace Racing has every engine and car calculator You will ever need and many more . They have maybe 150 or so diff calc ,,,,,,,scr dcr ,,,,,and effective cr ,,,,,,all the cam calc's ,,,,,1/4 and 1/8 mile calcs ,,,,gear change ,,,,,etc,,,,free

that static compression is fine, all you need to do to lower your DCR for the same SCR is advance your cam. but if you're at 8.4 as Grr calc'd out, you should be fine.
