I know a lot of people that haven't and they have been good! If you have the cash go for it!

The two are unrelated. LS7 lifters are nothing special, just the standard GM lifter. The trunnion upgrade addresses the issue with dumping bearings and tightens up clearances in the rollers. However, GM did fix the rocker design later so depending on the year of the rockers the trunnion upgrade may not even be necessary.

i dont know what yr GM changed the bearing design in the rockers......but when i did my upgrade the stock bearings practically FELL out of the rockers......no wonder they had that problem of shedding bearings into the engine

FWIW,

Be sure to check pushrod length after installing the lifters. The pushrod cup depth (where the pushrod sits) is a different height than a ls1 lifter.

Ls1 lifter - higher cup depth
ls7 lifter - lower cup depth

Some good information in here. Thanks guys. I do plan on bouching the motor off the rev limiter. It's going in a 240sx just for drifting.

The LS7 lifter has a ceramic check ball in it. The stock LS1 has as a steel check ball.
