Default Crankshaft q/a

I am building an IRON 5.7 with a stock LS1 5.7 rotating assy for my truck. I read a post the other day that made me say..........Bull$h!t. The person stated that you cannot use a 5.7 crankshaft if running truck accessories due to the assumption that the balancer wont fall out in the correct position to line the accessories up. I call BS because I dropped a 6.0 in my car with f body accessories and had no issues. (just the opposite of what I'm doing now)What do you guys think?

All cranks are the same except the 4.8, 6.0 long crank and the lsa, ls9 and ls7 cranks. Different years have different reluctor wheels, but other than that they are the same.

If you use f body accessories, you simply need to match the balancer to the accessories.

Are'nt there some differences at the rear where the flywheel/flexplate is spaced? for different applications ?

The only difference I have found is on older model (99-00) cranks from a 6.0 or 4.8 the rear main oil seal surface(the rear flange) is wider. I believe it had something to do with manual transmissions in the work truck packages.

Nothing to do with the work truck, It's the trucks with the 4l80e or the nv4500/3500. The early models had a longer crank ending in 215, the newer ones had the same 216 crank but came with an installed spacer and longer flex plate bolts.
