Default Chain Damper

When I replace the chain on my 99, LS1, should I add the damper? Thanx

Its not a bad idea, but not a total necessity. Also note you may have to totally disassemble the engine to do it though. The bolts are super long and go all the way through the block.

Maybe I can clarify this. The mounting holes for chain damper are not blind, they are open to the crankcase. If you use bolts that are to long, the bolts can interfere with your rotating assembly.

My block is not drilled. I was going to use the Trick Flow bracket.

Where do you get the Trick Flow bracket? I looked on their site but never found it. Drill 2 holes(with shop vac running near by) and tap with 8x1.25 or bracket? anybody?

I would run it. The TEA kit uses the less expensive LS2 damper.

Always wondered how it installs as from the photos it looks like it sits under the cam plate, which would then not seal. Post a photo once you install if you do go this route.
