Default Is this safe on a stock bottom end?

I've got a 02 Trans Am with the stock bottom end. Right now I'm trying to determine what rear gear I need. I hear 4.30s for n/a but I'm also unsure what kind of trap speed I'm going to be looking at because the car will get ran in varying DAs and I'm unsure how light this things going to end up. If I go to a 4.30 with a 27 inch tire that puts me at 129 at 6900 which in my opinion is plenty of room to grow. So now down to the question. Is 6900 safe if all I'm doing is running out to that going through the traps (if I even end up getting that trap speed out of it which I doubt). I'll be shifting at 6600 ish and will only be running 4th out to the 6900, am I asking for trouble?

Trouble? ! i've always though 6k was "Sticking it to the man" but what you suggest seams like DIE HARD.

ratio... go for 4.10 i'm running 3.42 275/45/R17 nt555 nitto and i have ALOT of wheel spin so i'd really be careful with tires if i would go with 4.10

I think you will be living on borrowed time with stock rod bolts and stock lifters.

Rod bolts are stock but the lifters are new LS7s.

What some people fail to realize is that ls7s have a lighter valve train so the lifters aren't as heavy duty as you might think.
I agree with the statement that you'll be living on borrowed time with a 4.30
I run 410s so IMO set up some 410s

The LS7 lifter is a good cheap stock lifter replacement, but it's not really much of an upgrade. It's not designed for high rpm and it still uses the crappy plastic lifter trays.

Yes, yes you are.

Will it live for some time? Sure.

Is it going to blow up much more prematurely than if you shifted at a sane rpm? For sure.
