Will 9.5:1 n/a be annoying?
I have a forged 347 with -2.2CC pistons in it. This motor is eventually going to get a blower on it, but that won't happen for 1-2 years. I was thinking of bolting on AI ported 317s in the mean time to tide me over for a while. This should put my compression at 9.5:1 or so which is a nice number for a boosted street car.
My question is...will this be annoying N/A? I can't imagine I won't pick up power/torque over stock 241s.

Yeah I was gonna send them to advanced induction. They did my 799s on my old N/A build that made great power. But I have no experience with below 10:1 compression. Right now the car is 10.1/1 and it feels just fine, so I can't imagine 9.5/1 feeling that much worse but I wanted some feedback.

My buddy has a 9.5-1 347 ford in his mustang. He also built the motor for boost down the road. With junk heads and a decent cam he traps 120 or so. If boost is your plan I'd say do it. Half a point won't be bad at all

-Sept 30th, popped #7 at track from a leaking injector (I was logging 12.5 AFR, but that cylinder leaned out from a leak)
-Nov 2nd, installed rebuilt $3400 forged 347 with stock crank.
-Nov 2nd, broke transmission main shaft doing a 1-2 on the street breaking in the new motor ($2600 fix since I got the entire thing built)
-Nov 3rd, discovered new block was built wrong and 2 cylinders had broken oil rings. Blowing smoke every where.
-Nov 4th, did fire sale of all my mods. At that point, I just needed a working car. I sold my 799s, my 1 7/8" headers, my fast, my ls2 TB, and any other misc power mods. because I felt utterly sick to my stomach with how much money I was pouring into this thing and I had nothing but a shell on jack stands in my back yard as my trans and motor were getting rebuilt. I had no idea if the 2nd motor was going to work or not, so I wanted to cover my *** financially in case I had to spend the $3400 again.
-Jan 15th, 2nd forged motor was installed and it was a success (the shop fixed it on their dime, kudos to them). I just used bone stock 241s and an ls1 intake. I also installed a 224/230 cam and C6Z exhaust manifolds and I love the setup, but it is obviously not nearly as fast as before.
My motor has Wiseco -2.2CC pistons, Callies compstar rods, arp 2000 bolts, and arp main studs. So yeah, basically I would feel dumb not putting boost through it (or spray???).
But in the meantime, I will be running N/A and I wanted to bolt on some blower heads and an ls6 manifold. Then maybe boost in 2 years.
