Default 383 questions..

I have a ls1 383 with PP Ls6 stg2 heads, bbk intake, LT's, ory, ~11.3CR and current cam is 230/236 .598/.612 114.

The car drives great and is mostly street driven but does see the track a few times a year, with the above set up best et was 12.2@117...I was kind of hoping for better numbers, like break into the 11's and trap 120ish.

How can I get to the et I want? Change out the cam? if so, how big can I go with out giving up the good street manners I have now?

Would a 92mm intake and TB improve much over the bbk intake and 80mm TB?

How about swaping out my old slp 1 3/4" headers and ory for ARH 1 7/8" headers and ory?

Your low et is mostly do the 6spd, what are your 60ft times? The mph is a little low too not sure what that could be. My 383 ran a best of 7.26 in the 1/8th mile at 94 mph. Of course my 60ft was a 1.56 with the stalled auto too. This was with an LS6 intake, stock throttle body, stock 243 heads that had the bowls blended by hand, and pretty much the same cam as you a eps 230/238.

cam is too small, not enough overlap for the cubes.

my full weight car, 1999 Camaro SS went 11.394 in the quarter @124.9mph. the 60' wasa 1.8 on 275-17 michy thompsons. it has a 10bolt with 4.10 gears. M6 wih a 383, my heads are AFR 205s with the LS6 intake and 238/240 cam. it has great street manners kinda like my old Tq2 cam in my 346. the larger intake would help let the 383 breathe. are you an auto or M6?

Stock fuel pump, going to be changing to a racetronic's very soon.

Injectors are 42# SVO green tops.

Car is a M6 with 3.90 gears.

Upgrade the intake setup (lid/FAST etc), upgrade to the ARH's and get your 60ft in the 1.50's...then if you're still not satisfied go internal.. There's still too many unknowns to determine what a good ET/MPH would be for you (ex. your susp setup, race weight, tires, DA)

*My 5.7 based 395 stroker w/ ported LS6's, FAST 90 & very similar cam went 11.30's @ 124mph. I then added a real suspension, headers back, drag rims/tires
and went 10.80's @ 129mph

Car is lowered on eibachs with KYB agx's, spohn LCA's and panhard bar.

there is no weight reduction done to the car, and I was running 295/35/18 BFG DR's
