Default rod bolt help

If getting arp rod bolts how do you know if you need to resize? How do you measure it? What about main caps as well??

You torque the fasteners in the rod/main cap and measure with a bore gauge. If the bore is out of spec, you need to consider having them resized.

Sure you can. You just don't have to cut the parting surfaces since its a cracked cap.

Yes, and run over sized bearings.

However, to my knowledge, the only bearings you can get are .002 larger. So that doesn't leave a whole lot of room if they go out very much.

Not saying this works without problems on everones engine but, I installed arp rod bolts on my ls1 when I had the short block rebuilt and had no problems. When I done mine the engine was first put together using the factory bolts then I replaced one rod bolt at a time torqing to spec. Just make sure you get the correct bolts ( cracked cap arp bolts) and be sure to pull the little sleeve that's around the bolt out of the cap

As little as .002" and as much as .003" considering the tolerances for the housing bores. It doesn't have to be spot on, I'd still run it a couple tenths over the high if that's what it ended up at.
