Best Cam for around 350 at the wheels
I know this is going to be a little different than the all out power cams but wanted to know what you guys think.
Building a road race car with a specific power to weight ratio rule. With the cars current weight I need around 350 at the wheels. Motor specs: 243 heads, Victor Jr intake, 4150 throttle body, 30lb injectors, long tubes. All being run with mega squirt. With the LS6 cam I made 380 at the wheels. I know I could probably throw an LS1 cam in there and get 350 to the ground. Im just not sure what the torque curve is going to look like. Suggestions?
Not going to pull a bunch of timing to bring the power down. I've hurt too many motors doing that. And sure as hell not adding 300lbs to the car to meat the power to weight I need.

With full bolt-ons with stock cam you should be around 350. What are your short term/long term goals? I wouldn't run anything under a 228..but thats just me. But for the most part any cam other than the worthless ls6 would get you their.

Long term goals is to keep the motor together as long as possible. Road racing can be pretty hard on an engine. I'll play around with exhaust. Right now it's just dumped before the axle with a short bullet. I've still got the Magnaflow system that came off the car that might help. I'm going to go with the LS1 cam. Should be nice and easy on the valve train. Thanks guys.
