I wouldn't, most likely it will be so close to stock that you still get the headaches of the stock converter.

If you are dead seat on the bare minimum, I would look into one of the 3000-3200 cheaper converters from Yank, Circle D, etc. Do not go under 2800 or you might as well leave it stock IMO.

I had it with a 3000 stall. Drove very tight and very little slop, exactly what I wanted. If I had to do it over id prolly go with 3200 or 3600 yank SS

I'd say about a 3000 or 3200

I'm sure you can get away with it....It won't run/perform as well as it would with a
3-3600 stall. I'd wait and get a budget friendly converter.

IMO with a heavy truck and 5.3L I'd go with something smaller like a Tick SNS torqueMAX stage 1 cam, and a 2800-3200 stall. I'd also highly recommend porting the LS2 intake.

A 3600 with 3.73s would feel good and be nice and tight for the street.

Contact someone at Yank, explain your goals and especially the topographic area you live in and they will recommend one to fit your needs.
It is not how high it stalls that determines its looseness, it is the "str".
