Default lq4/lq9 stock gm long block

got my junkyard lq4 came out of a y2k 2500 series truck. need to know which direction on marking the main caps for disassembly. do i start at the front of the block with the number one, or start at the back with number one?? thanks the oldman.....

doesn't matter as long as you put them back the way you took them off

why are you taking it apart and taking it to a machinist?

1 starts at the front of the block and they are cast into the caps. 1-4 face the rear of the block and 5 faces the front of the block.
Search Google images and you will see or look at the orientation when you pull the pan.
