Default Valve train noise!!!

THIS is my first post to this forum..........
i have read over and over about the LS valve train noises and have tried to remedy mine.....
engine::: 2005 lq9---comp cam stick (230"sduration/617-622 lift)-comp springs/retainers/locks---.........025 longer hardened pushrods-comp trunion kit when i adjusted preload, has right at 2 turns past 0 lash, fron what i have read this should be primo?? this motor carries 50-60 psi oil pressure at 2000rpm but tha valve train sounds HORRIBBLE!! I am running the oem lifters, is that the next step? this motor is loud enough that i am concerned. HELP TIA

The lifters should've been replaced when you did the cam swap.

Oil pump o-rings can cause a tick if they are not seated correctly.

Shut off the engine then check the oil for tiny air bubbles on the dip stick. If its full of air bubbles the oring on the pickup tube is probably letting air leak into the oil pump inlet.

It's not an oil issue. You have too much preload and are most likely bottoming out the pistons in the lifters. From what I have read on Tech, (if you are talking about the amount of turns from 0 lash on the rocker bolt) you want to be at 1/2 turn to 1 turn on the rocker bolt from 0 lash. This is where it can get confusing, 1 full turn = .049 of movement @ the bolt, but what you need to figure in is the rocker arm ratio. The rocker arm ratio is 1.7 but the rocker arm comes off the seat @ 1.54, so if my math is correct 1/2 turn = .037 preload and 1 full turn = .075 preload. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies..... i had searched also, i thought everyone was reccomending 2 turns from zero lash.....thats how i came up with the .025 longer pushrods. it was also noisy with the stock length pushrods. so, the concensus here is 1 full turn after zero lash? i am using stock rockers with the comp cams trunion kit. TIA
